Hi everyone.
My son turnt 3 two weeks ago and we have decided to start potty training as he seemed ready.
He has known what a potty is for a while now and in the past has showed us his need to poo in the potty.
Day 1 started I just put pants on him firstly but we had two accidents straight away. Then I decided to keep him naked the waist down, this seemed to be more effective on day 1 we had 4 accidents all pee no poops he seems pretty confident when he has to go poop.
Day 2 we had 2 accidents both pee again.
Day 3 is today he was at daycare this morning for two and a half hours and had no accidents whatsoever which I didn't expect and was so happy about. He has had one accident in total today also a pee I felt really disheartened which I know this will happen and can't be helped, as I asked him did he need to pee two minutes before and he said no then he watched himself pee straight after over the kitchen floor I cleaned it up and showed him the toilet is where to pee.
The method we have been using so far is taking him to the toilet every 45 minutes to see if he needs to go.
I am doubting myself if I am doing this right as I really want him to start being able to tell us when he needs to go himself.
Any advice or tips ?

You both sound like you are doing great- the only advice I can offer having been through this with 2 boys is making sure their pants/boxers are quite loose.
Even go up a size maybe.

I found having close fitting underwear felt too much like a nappy and they would just forget.

Also stick to trackie bottoms/ shorts that are easy to pull down- and they are easy to wash and dry too!

Keep at it, he will get there..
