I’ve just given out of date Yeo valley yogurt to my 2 year old. I feel awful! And am so anxious. Will he be ok?
mum partner did all the bins and apparently emptied the fridge yesterday, the. had a delivery so didn’t even think to check the date. It was a week out of date!!

It will be fine - I’ve given mine yoghurt older than that on many occasions. My mum used to say that yoghurt is off anyway, so it is genetic in my case!
But maybe watch this to see what might happen… ShockGrin

@AnyBenny thank you I hope he will be ok. I feel like shit 🙈 he’s only almost 2 bless him. I could actually kick my partner 😂😡

He'll be fine. I once gave my toddler off milk in his cereal without realising. When he said it was yukky I thought he was just being a picky eater. Major mum guilt but he was fine!

Fightingtobepositive · 03/04/2023 13:59

@Ihatebloodycocomelon aw bless I’ve also done that 🙈 but he ate the whole pot of yogurt and I had a mouthful before seeing the lid 🙈 xx

I often eat out of date yoghurts! They get shoved to the back of the fridge, I travel a lot, come home and there they still are so I eat them. It’s not unknown for me to accidentally eat 3 months beyond date! Shock, horror but no ill affects.
Don't worry Mom. Baby will be fine.

Fightingtobepositive · 03/04/2023 18:44

@Suetcrust really? That’s reassuring. I’m panicking over it 🙈 I felt awful. Xx

If yoghurt was actually off, you would have noticed as it would have been green with mould or it would have tasted bad and he would have spat it out. I think yoghurt dates are best before anyway

NaturalStudy · 03/04/2023 18:57

He'll survive. If you feel that anxious about giving your DC a yoghurt a week out of date you may wish to speak to your GP about some help.

MrsRandom123 · 04/04/2023 18:46

Was he ok?

Fightingtobepositive · 05/04/2023 09:42

Thanks ladies. You did put my mind at rest. Yes he’s ok ☺️ xx

Calm down OP - yogurt keeps for bloody ages, I've eaten yogurt that was a month 'out of date'. DC will be fine.
