This counts as a milestone in our house - first smile, first word, first time they could roll enough to come off the bed........

Sadly you will get used to this sort of thing, it's why babies are bouncable!

it's an awful noise, isn't it? DS has done it twice? and scared the life out of me both times.

NOTE: each time it was officially My Fault even though the first time DH was in the bed as well...

DS (2) has just learnt how to open the car door from the inside. Which I discovered driving back from the Cm with him one day last week [horror]

I look back fondly at the falling off the bed now...

Maybe time to put the child locks on Kewcumber?

ScienceTeacher · 14/02/2008 18:47

It's happened to all of us, bumbly.

Ooooh! Can I wheel out my Controlled Crying story??

Once I put BabyDragon to bed in her cot next to my bed. leave and listen to her whinging a bit. For about half an hour I think "Oh, sounds like she's whinging herself to sleep and kicking the cot sides..." Then I think "That sounds a bit muffled..."so I went in to check.

Turned out she'd lunged out of her cot onto my bed and then rolled off that onto the wooden floor and under the bed with the dust bunnies. All without a large thud or any proper crying.

She's a neglected 3rdborn child. I just pulled her out and dusted her down. She was fine

Oh god, I'm not the only one. Thought I was the worlds worst mum. My 3 1/2 week old DS fell out of bed last night. Luckily he landed nappy first but it was dark and I couldnt see him properly and picked him up the wrong way. Cried for ages until DH reassured me. Hes going in the cot now for sure. I cant cope with it happening again,I'm not even sure what happened....

dilbertina · 15/02/2008 11:05

oh dom41 I am sorry but LOL at visions of you desperately trying to rescue ds...and picking him up by foot! also like "landed nappy first"!
