Teething and cough?

hey guys, my 5 month old DS is teething (one bottom tooth has come out and the one next to it is about to), and ever since the tooth came out the day before yesterday, DS has cold symptoms. He has a consistent cough and he sneezes a bit too. Can teething and coughing be linked, because I seem to think so? DS did have a viral infection about 3-4 weeks ago but that got better, but the cough started again. How can I help his cough? We’re using a humidifier, can I give calpol even though he doesn’t have a fever?

Yes my DS had this too. The girls at work said it's a 'teething cough' which I'd never heard of but apparently it's a real thing.

I always used calpol for teeth, or ibuprofen (advised by HCP). The calpol room plug in also seemed to help at night, gets expensive though. The cough can hang around for weeks but GP was never concerned.
