Head Lice!

My daughter’s 6 years old and we’ve just got her 1st case of the dreaded nits. Probably lucky to have got this far without catching them yet, anyway, I’ve been combing through with a nit comb every day on wet hair with normal conditioner on, as advised by experienced friends. But still finding them everyday, either I’m not being thorough enough or these are some serious super bugs. I keep her hair tied back in plaits when at school.
Should I get the proper medicated shampoo? I’ve been told they’re very toxic and don’t work on head lice anymore. Thank you in advance for any advice

Hedrin Once. Comb through while it's on and remove any eggs/lice. Do not wet it when it's time to remove. Use talc all over and then dish soap. Then a fuck ton of conditioner. That's the only method that's worked with DD. She caught them twice during primary and this got rid completely. Weekly check after that just in case.
