Self referral to cahms for child?

Does anyone know if I need a gp, or can I refer my own child (aged 4) to cahms? Is it area dependent? Concerns are ARFID and anxiety (emotional regulation is how nursery describes it - he gets sad, frustrated etc and struggles with it a lot. No violence).

Where I am you need a referral from your GP, school, nursery or another health professional (paediatrician). Social workers can also make referrals.
