Tiny spots and now sore eyes?

DS had a bunch of small spots appear the other day mainly around his nose (all circled in red. The area in green is a patch of eczema that has flared up and down since birth and is normal for him). There are also a few on his chin. Tiny spots that scabbed over within a day. He has been itching his face a bit but doesn’t seem to be any other spots on his body.

He complained a few times Monday and yesterday of having a “runny eye”...it was a bit watery but there was nothing else to be seen. He woke at 11pm shouting about a runny eye and has only been able to settle on me since then 😔 cries about runny eyes everytime I try to put him down. And is rubbing away as if his face is itchy. No new spots or anything to see and his eyes are watery but don’t look irritated/gungey or anything.

Any ideas?

Poor little mite. I've no idea what it might be but I would see a GP asap. I'm wondering if it can be chicken pox which has affected his eye , but I have no medical knowledge whatsoever.

My ds had this. Went to bed with a very dark circle under his eye. Woke up completely bloodshot. Viral rash all over his torso. No fever though. 2 weeks later his skin on entire body is papery dry and like sandpaper. Like permanent goosebumps. No idea what it is. Gp just said a virus then proceeded to prescribe antibiotic eyedrops. Hmm

@TriedTurningItOff @Santiagopink @Mummyjlr120 Thanks for your replies. The spots first appeared on Friday afternoon. I was expecting him to wake Saturday morning with them blistered and either be chicken pox or hand foot and mouth (although he was 100% fine in himself which was absolutely NOT the case when he had HF&M before 😬😳) but he woke up with them just looking like tiny scabs and they have faded ever since.
Even fainter this morning! One new spot on his cheek and 2 new ones on his nose but they’re just red dots, not blistered or scabbing.
Hasn’t mentioned his eyes since he woke up just before 6am. There’s no water/gunge and they don’t look red etc. Have checked inside the lids but can’t see anything at all 🤷🏻‍♀️

He’s definitely a bit itchy but nothing extreme 🤔

We did go swimming last week and a family came in with 2 kids with chickenpox that weren’t yet scabbed over and took them in the pool 🙄 but DSs little spots appeared 3 days later which I’m pretty sure is far too soon for chicken pox.
