HELP how do I approach the head teacher!!! (Didn't know where to post this on this app)

7 separate times she's posted my children on public school Facebook page! Each time I've told her to take them down! I've signed 3 separate documents clearly stating I do not want my children on socail media. I've told her to her face twice, 4 times in a email as well!!

Last month I sent the head a blunt strate to the point email stating I do not feel like she's taking my concerns as a mother seriously as she keeps posting my children on socail media!!!!!! I'm absolutely fuming and don't know how to approach her as this is the 7th time and she's still not bloody listening to me!! Surely this is a breach of some sort? So angry!!

Help!!!

Can you escalate to the Board of Governors? I think that’s the next step.

@GrazingSheep how do I even know where to start with that?

Yes, it’s a serious breach. You need to write a very strongly worded later to the HT and then escalate to the LADO (basically the local safeguarding officer who is authority based not in school)

You may need to get the governors involved too and ask for their support in getting the current images removed.

Quite frankly the teacher could lose their job for this.

Look at the school website. It should have contact details there I think.

@Internationalwomendayheadquarters

I've already wrote a strongly worded email to her! She's the Head teacher... now I want it to go further but I don't know who or what to do!

School website, complaints procedure. It will show you the steps to take, in order.

peeweechigs · 27/03/2023 21:21

Absolutely unacceptable and I can't believe it's happened so many times.
Complain to the head, and chair of governors. Really bad form.

NillyNoMates · 27/03/2023 21:23

If you have signed their forms to say no to photographs then there should be no way their images are used on social media. Did the head respond to your letter?

just a thought though: is the social media being used completely open to the public?

quewbg · 27/03/2023 21:23

This is bizarre

alyceflowers · 27/03/2023 21:25

Formal complaint - look up the school's complaints policy/procedure.

Maybe a complaint to the ICO too?

hannah345 · 27/03/2023 21:25

@NillyNoMates yes she responded and said sorry, she'll give me more forms to sign stating I do not want them on socail media! Yup... open to public for the whole world to see!

I would advise taking screenshots of the social media showing your children before they get a chance to take them down.
