Tips for getting 10 month old to go back in cot after waking up

My LO is almost 10 months, we’re starting to get longer stretches of sleep (finally!) on good nights he’ll sleep from 7pm-1am before waking for a feed. Bad nights he can be awake and wanting to play anywhere from 1-4am.
We do the same bedtime routine every night with a bath every other night and it’s always around the same time. He goes down no problems in the cot after a cuddle until he’s drowsy then bum pats when in the cot.
He has 1 feed in the night still (bottle fed) he drinks the entire bottle so I don’t think he’s ready to drop this yet as we’ve dropped 2 bottles in the daytime already.

I’m just wondering how to get him to go back to sleep in the cot after this feed as he just seems to scream and cry and fights with it every night and I’m that exhausted that he ends up coming in bed with us, a habit I feel I’ve caused!

Feel like I’ve tried everything at this point but any suggestions are appreciated!!

Is he in your room? Mine wouldn't sleep all night until I started only putting the baby to bed in their own room and that included naps in the day

@quietnightmare No he’s been in his own room for about 2 months now, I put him down in his cot for naps in the day as well. It just seems to be after his feed he won’t go back to sleep in it

hoping it’s just a phase!
