WOW was I wrong....

So baby boy is 8 weeks, he was induced 3 weeks early....

He eats (now I mean, downs, savages etc.) 8 bottles of 180 ml of formula every 24 hours. Do other babies do this?!! 🤣🤣

He isn't a great sleeper. He's alright. But after his 4 am (ish) feed he doesn't go into a deep sleep, it's desperate....he just goes in and out of light sleep, complains, cries, sleeps a little, and the cycle goes on.

What's the point of my post? I need HELP OR SUPPORT THAT I'M DOING SEMI-OK. Or am o getting it all wrong...god i thought, I, had, babies, sussed 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

It's really common for babies to be in and out of sleep, grunting/groaning after 4am...something to do with their digestion.

I'm not sure on the formula as I've only ever breastfeed so hopefully someone else can advise on whether that is right.

Babies don't ever really go into too deep of a sleep which is why the wake often, it's a SIDS thing.

I'd say you're doing great!

Ihave a 12 week old (born 5 weeks early) so I'm in the thick of the bad sleep. I have a 19 month old aswell and luckily she now sleeps through.

My little boy is 8 weeks today too and his digestive system wakes at 4 every morning. He spends the next 3 hours grunting, squirming and dozing. It's exhausting but I've accepted it and I'll go to bed at 9pm to try get decent sleep in before the dreaded 4am rolls round. It should get better when the digestive system matures (I'm hoping for 10 weeks 😅but have 12-14 in my head realistically)
