10 week old poo frequency?

He used to be a poo after every feed then the last couple weeks he started going maybe 4 times a day but all of a sudden he now hasn’t gone for nearly a full 24 hours? I know they can drop off as they get older but is it normal to just suddenly drop?

Mine would occasionally skip a day here and there, she’d make up for the skipped day when she did go again!

If he’s happy in himself and not uncomfortable then don’t worry.

My DD did this, exactly the same circumstances as you (pooing after every feed then no poo at all). A midwife's advice was-

• If they are feeding ok and having plenty of wet nappies there is nothing to worry about.
• Do plenty of bicycle legs and tummy massage to help move things along.
• If it gets to 48 hours and they still haven't pooed, ring her back (maybe you could ring 111). However, chances are it would still be fine. Their digestive system isn't fully mature yet and so things can speed up or slow down.

My DD ended up pooing after maybe 36 hours and it was a beast.

It's not unusual for breastfed baby to not poo for a while. Some can go for almost 2 weeks without one.

It can happen around growth spurts. There's no waste product in breastmilk so if they are using it all to grow then they won't poo any out.
