Reflux & Kendamil

I have a 4 month old who suffers from reflux. We've tried anti reflux milk which wasn't much help and Gaviscon, which does help if we pile him full of it but then have to counter the constipation it causes with daily lactulose, which feels wrong to do long term. We've tried all the "little and often", which is a waste of time with a hungry baby and we try and wind lots during feeds. Never feed lying down, keep him upright for ages after feeds, all the usual - nothing has changed much so far.

I've seen lots of people mention Kendamil milk has helped with reflux. Has anyone got any experience of this? Is the standard range or Organic the one that seems to help?

Hi. I'm currently mix feeding my 5 week old baby and using kendamill as the formula but I actually think it gave him reflux. I am now looking to stop kendamil & move onto cow & gate which i used with my first.

My baby also had bad reflux and kendamil made it worse as it’s made with full fat so I think it was too rich!
we have found Sma little steps to be the best as it doesn’t froth but tbh the thing that helped most was time and weaning. I know that doesn’t help you now, my little one is 8m and rarely sick now and if he is it’s just a little dribble. Prior to that was sick 5-6 times per feed and hours later!

my DD was on Kendamil and it seemed to help her reflux for a couple of weeks and then it got even worse. She’s on Hipp anti reflux milk now, the difference is amazing. She’s stopped being sick but she does get a bit constipated sometimes, I think that’s the risk you run with the anti reflux milks as they are thickened.

Hipp Organic was great for my silent reflux baby. That and the ranitidine (can no longer be prescribed) made the world of difference. Ask your gp for Omeprozole as that can work wonders as well.

@Milkhoney I've only seen threads where the Kendamil made things worse. Did you try it in the end and how are things now?

Ask your gp about carobel we used it with our little one and it made a huge difference and was prescribed by the doctors.
