Non Uniform Day

I've sent ds1 off to nursery today in his uniform. Have just remembered that it's a Non-Uniform Day and he was supposed to have taken a small prize for the Christmas Fair tombola with him.
I can just picture him sitting there in the middle of all his mates wondering why he's the only wearing his school top.
I hate being a working mum - I just can't remember anything either at home or work - I just have to concentrate on getting everyone out of the house in time for me to get here to work.

Well badhair if it makes you feel better i sent my ds to school the other week (year 3) dd having already gone through the school completely, in his uniform after reading it was a Mufti day on Friday and they had to bring a jar - i simply couldnt connect Friday-mufti-bring gift. and I was chair of the PTA who organise this for 3 years Grin

Sad Poor you. It's a nightmare - I don't even work, but trying to keep tabs on three kids and who's supposed to have what and when is proving beyond me at the moment. I've invested in an Oxfam Family Organiser for next year (with the columns on) which I swore I'd never get, but TBH anything which helps me out of the paper mountain under which I'm living at the moment has to be a good thing!

Ah, poor BadHair, but don't worry, you're probably more upset about it than he is. And chances are, being a working mum hasn't been the cause of you forgetting about it - I'm working, but part time and at home, and I'm always forgetting stuff to do with school - I'm sure if I went out to an office full time I'd be more organised!

Oh, Badhair, Marslady did this too the other day, there is a thread on it with other people's similar experiences...\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1375&threadid=46910&stamp=041202105426\here you go} - hope it helps! Grin

Thank you JanH that does help - I'm wetting myself laughing at Piccalilly's mum giving her the bacon box by mistake.
I'm girding myself up for the inevitable when I get home later.
