What age was your boy or boys when their foreskin would first fully retract? There seems to be so many different views on the internet as to what age it can be so I am just trying to get an idea what an average might be like.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/phimosis/

Says sometime between 5 and 10 or older

Thank you for your reply. I have read that it can take that long for some boys but then again I have read some can retract from as young as 12 months or even younger. So I am just trying to get an idea of what a sort of average might me.

Unlikely to retract at that young age unless it is forced by someone else. Why are you asking?

fhtshop · 15/03/2023 15:20

dementedpixie. Just trying to get an idea can not find anything on the internet. I have 3 uncircumsiced boys my oldest boy can not retract his but his little brother can and he asked me when his will retract so I am just trying to find out weather for an example most boys its after 8, 5 or 3 etc.

My 9 year old can’t retract his. But his 4 year old brother can 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is a weird thread. If genuine, ask your GP

purplepencilcase · 15/03/2023 15:23

Why??? Why on earth would you ever even wonder that?

SleepyRooster · 15/03/2023 15:25

Can someone report this? I can't on this bloody app

JorisBonson · 15/03/2023 15:47

I have reported

fhtshop · 15/03/2023 16:54

SleepyRooster and purplepencilcase. I have but he is is one of the Doctors that is the old school type where they say you should be retracting from 6 mounts old at bath time. He was actually going to try to retract my oldest son but I stopped him. Modern advice is not to touch it and wash just like a finger. I am just trying to get some idea what the medium is there is just so much conflicting information on the web.

An average age is just that though. Even within groups of boys they will all be at different stages and things happen at different ages.

Just because your older son can't just yet doesn't mean there is anything wrong.
