Went to our usual toddler group today and saw another mum I knew who has a ds same age as my dd (almost 2). She has just returned to work and going on about how great the nursery that her ds goes to - it is a fab one and if we could afford it we would send dd there instead of juggling cm and me working from home. Anyway she was going on and on about how her ds had progressed and benefited from the environment so when I managed to get a word in - I said that for the same reasons I was looking forward to dd starting playgroup in September and how we'd already found a lovely one where we think she'll be happy. So she looks dd up and down and says 'I'm not sure thats a good idea - unlike my ds your dd is clearly not mature enough to go to preschool in Sept' ARRGGHH I had to get up and walk away - she has not seen dd in 2 months so how would she know if dd was ready??? and even if she wasn't its 6mths away!!!! I'm so fed up with some parents using other parents to step on just to make themselves feel better.. and why is always me???
