Chicken pox or?

Wednesday morning I noticed my daughter had a spot and thought nothing of it Wednesday night she then had a total of 4, Thursday morning she has another few more. Today she's 4 more around her ankles.
I've been the doctors they said could be chicken pox if not it's viral. I've been to two chemists who say it isn't chicken pox. I'm not sure what it could be?

Looks like bites to me. Do you have pets?

Freshair87 · 11/03/2023 14:32

Doesn't look like chickenpox my DD had

Watching with interest as this looks very similar to what my toddler currently has. I initially thought chicken pox but realised it wasn't, it's only on his legs, wrists and bum, so I thought hand foot and mouth but I had that myself a few months ago and the spots quickly turn to blisters so I know it's not that. It doesn't look like a rash and it's not in clusters, it looks more like isolated insect bites as the skin is red around the spots and some of them look like tiny faded bruises but I've literally googled images for everything, bed bugs, flea bites, hives, scabies, and can't find anything it resembles. He has no temperature, seems completely well and whatever it is isn't itchy so not too worried but I'm keeping an eye on it in case it gets worse or doesn't go away. He has just got over a sickness bug with diarrhoea so wondering if it's something viral related to that 😕

The doctor did say to me that if it wasn't chicken pox it could be viral along with her head cold that she has, but she is completely normal in herself, no temp, eating well, sleeping well and I've no clue what they are at all. I was also thinking allergies to something but nothing has really changed

It looks like bites to me too op definitely not chicken pox.

WhiteHorse92 · 11/03/2023 22:51

Yeah the ankle picture looks exactly like what my son has on his legs. I agree it looks like insect bites but my toddler hasn't been out anywhere because of sickness bug and neither me or my partner have these spots and they're not itching or bothering him so not sure where he's got them from 😕

tess1234 · 11/03/2023 22:55

Would you say it looks like flea bites? I do have a cat, she's indoors and regularly flead and wormed. But then I'd of been bit maybe

I also have cats but indoors only and me and my partner don't have these spots. Flea bites are supposed to be itchy and more clustered together as well. They do tend to go for the ankles though apparently!

tess1234 · 11/03/2023 23:11

They do, the ankle ones was the last lot to appear up today. My biggest fear is them being bed bug bites 😅 I truly hope they ain't that

That had crossed my mind but bed bug bites are also supposed to be itchy and appear in lines so I don't see how it can be that either 😅

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/03/2023 23:35

Looks like flea bites.

tess1234 · 11/03/2023 23:37

I searched that up to lol, she's 4 scattered around her belly and back, 2 on each leg, 3 on her foot, and 4 on her ankle, she did have one on her hand and one on her finger but they have gone down where you can barely see them unless you knew they was there

I'll update you tomorrow, whatever it is doesn't seem to spreading, just seems like a mix of fresh red spots and what looks like faded blemishes that are painless and absolutely nothing on his back, neck or chest. I have been bitten by fleas before and they definitely itch!
