Bunkbed recommendations

We would like to put our boys who are aged 5.5YO & 2.5YO into a bunk bed to utilise the smaller long room and use the other square bedroom (but lower ceiling) as a play room.

Ideally we would like a bunk bed that separates into two single beds for when they’re older.

Thanks for any suggestions (or advice on those to avoid), or anything different which you’ve found to work better.

Thanks

This looks like it would fit the bill, there are a few other options on Argos too: www.argos.co.uk/product/1649855

@hulahoopqueen thank you. I like the look of
this one as it’s simple and not too bulky.

I’ve got secondhand Thuka and Stompa ones from eBay. When I looked in to it, the good brands are better value as they can cope with being taken apart and put together again (so turned into two beds) while the cheap Argos / IKEA ones tend not to fit back together the second time.

We have an ikea Kura for similar age kids. The top bunk is quite low which is good if the little one is going to play up there (let's face it, they are)

@Optionally are they chunky frames? We are in a cottage to I’m aiming to get something slim. My sons single bed is pretty big which I didn’t think about when I got it second hand.

@MotherOfCrocodiles did you just get a slatted base for the bottom and are they standard single length? I was thinking that I didn’t wAnt to spend money now on something that can’t be separated then wish I had later down then line. What do you think?

not slimline but I wouldn’t say chunky, more sturdy. Have a Google - I got mine secondhand about 10 and 6 years ago, so styles may well have changed a bit. And it also depended on what was available locally as it needed two car trips to collect each bed, so we didn’t want to go too far.
