Grandparents seeing grandkids

Currently having issues with my mum and how often she wants to see my baby. She sees her 3 times a week minimum. So I’m just curious, how often do your parents see your children? If they live in the same area I mean.

if you are a grandparent, how often do you expect to see your grandchildren?

I would love to see DGS frequently but they live 4 hours away. Currently a weekend every couple of months and videocall weekly. Very envious of DIL family who live close by and visit weekly. Feel like a 2nd rate grandparent.

my In laws see my dc at least twice a week, and my mum can go 2-3-4+ weeks without bothering at all. In the interest of fairness, in laws live 5 minutes away, MIL doesn’t really work and FIL works for us whereas my mother is an hour away and works full time, but still…

My parents haven't ever been particularly interested. My mum lived 10 mins walk away and still didn't bother.

I and my children haven't seen her for nearly 4 years now.

I'd love to see DGC more. We see them Easter, birthdays ( sometimes), and Christmas. Their mother brings them to collect presents.

Apparently, we aren't family. Only their mothers side is family.

My only hope is that they will understand when they are grown up and see that they were manipulated.

This is sad but mother still comes to collect presents 😞

I'm a grandmother - my son lives 10 minutes drive away and I see them for a family dinner once a week ( kids are 1,13,17). I look after the baby about once a fortnight . My daughter is 60 miles away - I drive there every Tuesday and stay until Friday, to look after her children before and after school.

When babies and on Mat leave about 3 times a week for us.

Parents live round the corner and I go round once a week. In laws live a long drive away so we see then 3 or 4 times a year.
