Nasal polyp toddler

Child keeps getting swollen tonsils or tonsillitis, having obstructed sleep events when ill & they have noticed a nasal polyp on one side & we can see it too now we are looking. GP referred us to ENT with apparently a long backlog as warned by GP, just concerned about wait time as this seems a little unusual at this age. Should we be concerned or consider visiting a private consultant in case it’s something to be aware of sooner. 3 year old seems ok in day but does seem to be going through a tired phase even though lastest infection has passed. Always been a mouth breather.
