What does your 6-7 year old watch?

I’m just wondering what sort of tv programmes your 6/7 year olds watch? I’m not sure if my daughter is watching things a lot younger than most children her age but obviously don’t want her to “grow up” too quickly

I would really recommend Avatar the Last Airbender (it's on Netflix). Geared towards 7-12 yo. It can be mature at times in a sensitive way, but mostly it's a lot of fun.

(Counting down the years until my son is old enough to watch it)

My twins have been watching Ducktails (the new version) on Disney+ which is a lot of fun. They like Garfield, DD likes Pup Academy, DS likes Pokémon and for family film night we try to pick something we all like (we recently watched the new Asterix and Obelix film).

DD is 6.5

On her own she will watch:

  • Bluey
  • Topsy and Tim
  • Ryan's world on YoubTube
  • Blippi
  • Other CBeebies stuff

With her 10 year old brother she will watch:

  • Bunked (series about a holiday camp in America)
  • The Thundermans
  • Diary of a wimpy kid
  • horrible histories
  • films current favourites are Turning Red and Greatesr Showman
  • Legomasters USA
  • Ninja Warrior

She's not into princesses or unicorns 🦄 as you can probably tell 🤣

Why does it matter if she is watching things that you view as 'younger'? Let her watch what she enjoys so long as it is a) not too much and b) not too old.

The longer she is happy at the younger end the better, you can't hold them back but don't push them on either.
