18 month sleep regression is killing us

Help!

DS wakes up at between 1:30 and 3 every night and will basically cry and shout until you give him milk. We’ve tried controlled crying and crying it out and he can keep it up for two hours (at which stage we cave as two hours of crying feels bad for him psychologically?).

Any suggestions?

I am tempted to just give him milk immediately and then at least we’d all get some sleep.

I use munchkin 360 or the tommee tippee ones with the valve (but make sure the valve is fitted properly or they do still leak!)

Shall investigate TT with valve! 360 he’s worked out leaks if he bangs it on things, which he finds hilarious…

By way of update, making him eat a dense supper is working - on nursery days we give him weetabix before bed, on non-nursery days we give him dinner late and make sure it has some good carby content. This is going well mostly! He no longer seems starving in the early hours, just sometimes in need of company or cuddles. But much less frequently. I’ve bought an emergency fold up mattress for his room but not actually needed it yet!

thanks again all.

18 month old here too who is also waking in the night. He also has severe eczema so that makes it even trickier to get him to lay back down. I'm due baby no 2 in 4 weeks and husband has started a new job that he has to drive for so we've given in and get milk straight away, change his bum and pop him back in his cot. If he wakes again after this, be comes into our bed. I never EVER wanted to co sleep but that last few weeks have been tough so gotta do what you gotta do!
