Sorry I’m not sure if this is allowed….. moderators please delete if it’s not
My son came home yesterday with this rash on both his hands. He had forest school so I assumed it was from some stinging nettles or a plant he had touched.
But tonight it’s gotten worse and is now on his bum, his inner thighs & his elbows. He says it’s itchy.
Nothing in his mouth or on his feet. He is well in himself no temperates eating well etc.
I am going to take him into a pharmacist tomorrow but just thought I’d ask here for now

If it was just his hands, given that he had forest school I’d suggest he disturbed acted a red ant nest & got sprayed. DD had similar on her hands and wrists, very itchy. The rash can take a few hours to a day to show. If he got changed straight after forest school it might explain how it transferred to his legs / bum. Did he go for a wee when he got inside?
I showed DD’s rash to a pharmacist - they had no idea - husband used to be a gardener and instantly recognised it, but obviously get it checked tomorrow. They may be able to give you something to help soothe the itch.

It looks like a reaction to something. Have you given him an antihistamine?

Oh interesting! Thank you for that

Looks like a hives type rash. Have you got some Piriton or other antihistamine in the cupboard? Calamine might help as well.

Yes he had piriton before bed

I get a rash like that on my wrists and ankles if I eat mussels. It looks like a reaction to something to me - antihistamines should help, if not then GP I guess.

Has he been ill recently? It doesn't look like a typical viral rash, but my son had a weird raised hive type rash after one virus - might be that. Piriton got rid of it too.

The rash is still there. I’m starting to wonder if it’s Molluscum contagiosum

What did the pharmacist say? Is it still itching? Any other symptoms? Has it spread? It’s been a week, I’d ask for a GP appt and send some photos from today.
