Twin boys bedtime

Twin boys (7) share a room. Recently, they've been chatting after lights out and getting to sleep around 8:15pm. They both get up just before 7am.

This is too late for one of my boys. He seems to be having a hormone surge atm too so needs good sleep.

Drink, teeth, wash, loo, reading, chatting...
Thinking of starting all of that at 6:45pm so in bed by 7ish then reading, then a little chat for lights out at 7:30 but they argue this is too early compared to their friends. Their friends are singletons!

Do you put your 7 year old to bed at 7pm?

It does sound a bit early to me. My eldest is 6, she has lights out at 8.15 with the aim of being asleep by 8.30 and wakes just before 7am . She wouldn't be impressed if I was starting getting ready for bed at 6.45, it wouldn't leave her much time to do anything other than very short things after dinner.

Best of luck! It's flipping hard when different bedtimes suit your twins (mine are only 2.5)

Sounds too early to me. And when mine went in separate rooms they often ended up in the same bed !

I can't even get my 3 year old twins down at 8.15! Shock My 6 year old would be horrified at such an early bedtime. If they chat, maybe it's because they are just not tired??

Why not let them stay up a bit more and aim to have lights out at 8pm? Almost 11 hours is still a great amount of sleep at that age.

When you say it's not enough sleep for one, it's he happily staying up talking or bring kept up?
My very just turned 8 yo goes up about 7.30, lights out about 8.30 at latest
