Hoping for some advice 🤞🏼

My little girl was born at 36+3 and was in NICU for a week before coming home, tube fed formula until the last day. A week after being home she stopped breathing and was back in hospital for 4 days again being tube fed. We are now at 8weeks old with a possible CMPA she was prescribed nutramigen and after 8days the doctor and I decided she was no better (but actually now I can see she was a little bit better) and to try normal formula again, after 24hours she is crying, bringing her legs up and is sick A LOT after every 1/2oz. Crying in pain between feeds. Would you carry on normal formula for another couple more days to see or just switch back to nutramigen.. I don’t feel like we’ve had a break and I am yet to enjoy any of this newborn stage 🥺😢

Join the CMPA Facebook group, those parents are very knowledgeable. I believe that formula only have the protein broken down rather than been dairy free. I would be asking for a completely dairy free formula.

I agree with the above Facebook group recommendation. An amino acid formula would probably be good to try as it doesn't have any milk protein in it at all. Nutrimagen has broken down milk in which my cmpa child reacted to.

It does take a number of weeks for the milk protein to leave their system so it could be a reaction to the residual amount in his system. However, my son never got on with Nutrimigen and I noticed an immediate improvement when he was switched to Neocate, which is amino acid based.

Try normal formula again?! Is your gp for real ? Press for another milk - amino acid one

Speaking from experience our GP was shocking and took 5months of my babies life to get them to change from aptamil pepti 1 to neocate

Agree the Facebook page is very good
It helped me x

Was it CMPA? I feel my daughters is more reflux. Would neocate work for that do you think?

CMPA - cow milk protein allergy, one of the common symptoms is vomiting. If she has cmpa then she needs a dairy free formula.

Just worth nothing the cmpa formulas are very thin so often can make reflux worse. Worth discussing in more detail with your GP if it is cmpa or reflux. @

I've no idea if mine was cmpa ( dr thinks
Not ) but mine also have reflux

We just use carobel to thicken the milk and she's definitely happier on neocate and thriving now x
