The school asked my son about moving home before I'd told him

We are moving from our home of over 8 years because landlord is selling. We are moving into Edinburgh to a relatives home because we can't find anything near where we are. I have contacted school transport to discuss my 12yo getting school bus from elsewhere so he can stay at the same school. I spoke to the school office yesterday and told them I haven't told the boys yet.

The school office have just called him to come to the office specifically to ask about him moving. He has no idea yet. I know he will be reeling and upset. I am already incredibly anxious and upset about all the moving and subsequent changes.

Just needed somewhere to air this.

It’s very very wrong and unprofessional of them as you specifically told them that you haven’t told the boys yet. I can’t give you an advice but just feel your pain. Moving is stressful at the best of the time so it’s all just too much. I would plan something nice and relaxing for today with them to have a chat about the move. Tell them openly that school was wrong to raise it as you were still exploring options and wanted to talk to them only after you’ve got all info.
but I know it’s easier to say then stop this anxiety feeling so sending good vibes and hope everything will be well.
