Bottom wiping

DS is still hopeless at wiping himself after he's been to the toilet. I've lost count of the pairs of underpants I've had to throw away as they were so bad.
He's come home from school before now smelling of poo and I'm worried he'll get teased.
I insisted on checking him before he got in the bath tonight and couldn't believe what a mess he was in.
We have the Kandoo wipes as well as loo roll and keep on encouraging him but would love any advice.

ds2 is six and we have same problem, had to take away kandoo wipes as a whole pack later dirty bum and blocked toilet. On friday it was whole roll of toilet roll toilet overflowing and still dirty bum
i'm not aware of any teasing at school thankfully and this weekend i have asked him to call when needs to wipe and stood giving intructions which appeared to help. i guess that one day it will just click fingers crossed.

Approaching from between the legs is more effective than going round the side.

(I don't have any sons, but remember my younger brother having the same problem.)
