Universal credit and housing payments

We need to move out asap because of a mould problem in our house that is making us feel under the weather. Our baby is only 7 months old so I want to get out asap

the place we are looking at is £850 in rent. That’s one of the cheapest places we are going to find around here and it’s perfect anyway. He earns £1600 a month and we get £661 in universal credit before deductions

do you guys have any idea how much we would get in housing payment (if we would be eligible)? We really need a bit of a support, just an extra hundred or two hundred a month would be a life saver

You can try a calculator to see what you’re entitled to, might give you an idea.

Look at the local housing allowance for your area and then look at your UC payment statement.

Replace the existing housing costs with new LHA then do the recalculation:-)

It will all depend on your LHA amount.
mine will pay up to £650 for a 2 bed. This amount gets added to your UC entitlement then your deductions for wages happens in the same way.

if your place has mould-what is your landlord doing to fix it?
