Revolting rhymes

Dd, 10 year 5, has just come home from school with Roald dahl's revolting rhymes. It's from her school library not her reading book. I remember this book from when I was a child and remembered something in it. So I look at there in the Cinderella story is the line " the prince cried, " who's this dirty slut?" Am I overreacting to think this shouldn't be a book in the school library.

It's an older use of slut meaning messy person, it's not meant in the sexual sense.

Ok thanks for clarifying.

Have you seen the animated version? It's on BBC iplayer. Made by the same people who made the Gruffalo and Stick Man animations. It's fantastic. A bit grim with hearts being eaten and heads being cut off, but very clever and watchable. At 10, your Dd should be OK with it. Mine loved it.
