Phonics Year 1 - RWI

My son is in year one on Read write inc, Oxford phonics books set 5. Is this good or bad for his age, he's been on them a while.

I did a quick google as my daughter school has moved over to RWI. Set 5 is the same as Oxford Owl’s Turquoise band

which is minimum of where he should be for the end of year 1.

So he is on track for his age.

RWI is banded in colours not numbers in our school. A week per book, a different number of books dependent on the level.

His are yellow books.
