Review of Parental leave/pay/access to affordable childcare.

Parenting comes with barriers and three in particular that may be relatable to others is identifying affordable childcare, the impact of taking parental leave and not receiving parental pay.
Therefore, I have started a petition to aim to have the following reviewed by the UK Government.
Access to affordable childcare - for there to be additional childcare options that are affordable such as state-run provisions to support parents to go back to work.
Parental leave and pay- a review of parental leave & pay as parental leave is currently unpaid (see attachments taken from gov.uk). Even if a parent takes leave to look after their child's welfare and follows the law that outlines children under the age of 12, are not mature enough to be left at home for long periods. Parents are expected to do this without pay!
Parents are expected to pay nursery fees when their child has a contagious illness e.g., chicken pox! As a result, may have to take parental leave or annual leave to be at home nurturing their child due to not having additional childcare support. This could be reviewed by the government as I am not suggesting business owners are to pay parents to be off.
At times it can feel like a losing battle when trying to sustain financially and build a future for your family, especially in light of the cost-of-living crisis.
Please sign, share and or re post my petition if you agree or know of a family member, friend, or a Neighbour that may benefit if changes were made. It takes a community :) Petition Link

Your really friendly lol
I’m new to this site and as I post I realise things needed editing. Then had stuff to clarify which went in this one. But it’s nice to know I have your attention to detail. Thanks for you comment 😊
