my dad is really annoying me, but constanly saying, your not a proper family until youve had 3 children

and to be honest its really pissing me off

sorry for the name change, but i do not want to be identified for this one!

we only had one dd and are very happy with that at the moment, we may or maynot have more in the future,
although i can only really see us having one more even if we do due to house space,car and money etc
or we may decide to just keep it us 3
dd is 8 months btw

dad is really pissing me off saying, your not a proper family until you've had three.
the thing that makes it even more annoying there are only really interested in one of my brothers,and have always favoured him and treated him differently,as they do there fav sons dd, yes you guessed it shes now the favourite gd. me and my other brother there just not as bothered about sad but true

it seems such an arbitary number

why not say

"well actually recent research points to a proper family being 4 children"

or

"ok I'll send back my family allowance and let the government know"

or

"dad do you have any concept how hurtful your comments are"

or

"Dad I think I need to tell you that the hospital warned us not to have any more children ... nah, not really .. but can you see how insensitive you're being"

or

"Yes Dad, you are the font of all knowledge with families which is why you blatantly favour brother and grand-daughter and make me feel really part of your family"

or

"will you just fuck off"

Your dad has 3. This is more about him saying that his choices are the right ones and if you don't do it his way, you're wrong.

You could return the criticism..."Well, families with three children aren't always fabulous"

yes he had 3 and was one of 3 aswell

i was thinking of saying somethng like well most people think its better to have two or four rather than 3.
or something like well the only problem with having three is some people do not have th time to give to all there children and grandchild

i must stress i do not hold this views in anyway whatsoever, just thinking of a way to piss him off back

although saying something sarcastic might n=be a better way to make my point known
