Breast feeding

My baby is 10 months old and currently breast feeds on waking up in morning, before bed and after lunchtime nap. I'm about to go back to work and wonder if I can drop the 3pm feed (replace with formula) 4 days a week when I'm not with him, but keep it on the other days? Or will my supply reduce if I don't feed on the 4 days-meaning that I can't feed on the 3 days I'm with him? Not keen on expressing but will do if necessary to keep up supply.

At this age no need to do that mid afternoon feed or to give formula.
They will be fine with food and water in the day.

Your supply will adjust up and down very easily now you've been feeding for so long. Only hand express for comfort if you feel full mid-afternoon.

I’m sure your supply will be fine. My little one is older, sometimes she feeds once every 48 hours but when ill can feed 8 times in 24 hours. Your body with adjust.

You’ll probably find they won’t have / need that 3pm feed when not with you, but your body will adjust to supply it on the days they are with you if he latches on. We are down to 3 / 4 a day with my 9mo LO but when ill or teething my body seems to adapt within a few hours to twenty billion feeds for a few days 😂

Agree with everything @NP0606 and others have said. If your supply is well established it will adjust fine.

Thanks everyone

Your supply will be fine. At one point I was only doing 1 feed per 24 hours and my body adjusted fine.

Your supply will be fine and no need for formula if you're still breastfeeding at other times and offering dairy foods.
