Where do you buy your baby clothes?

Hi all, I’m pregnant again after a big age gap so I’m starting over from scratch!
since mothercare shut down I’m not sure where is the best place for baby clothes. We’re not sure on the sex so it will be neutral for now, but after a quick online search it seems there are pink outfits everywhere these days and nothing simple, pastel or bright.
I know supermarkets can have lovely clothes but is there any where else you can recommend that I may have missed?

I got all mine from Tesco or NcT sales.

Vinted is great for getting more expensive brands but cheap. For brand new then definitely supermarkets!

Supermarkets, next, boots, m&s. Zara are good for neutrals. Also try Vinted. People often sell bundles of new baby clothes on there when they've ended up too much and the baby outgrows them before they get the chance to wear them. You'll also get clothes that have been worn but still in good condition.

Vinted! And then I sell them on again afterwards if they’re still in good condition 🙂 game changer. Everyone always comments on DD’s clothes being lovely and I love replying “oh it was two quid on vinted” 😂

John Lewis has a good mix of basics and brands. Zara has nice neutral stuff too.

Also John Lewis and Boots , when on offer if possible. A lot of John Lewis stuff is gender neutral which I prefer anyway. Boots brought out Mothercare I think but don’t know how similar their clothes are to the old Mothercare.

H and m and Zara are both good for neutral and Zara does nice knitted cardigans and booties

The supermarket stuff is all great! H&M stuff is lovely but a bit pricier, same with Next. I bought a lot of baby stuff from charity shops, a lot of it was barely worn if at all. Primark can be a bit hit and miss but is usually good for staples

Depends on your taste, I don’t like a lot of boys clothes from supermarkets. I don’t want everything covered in dinosaurs. Sainsburys used to be nice but I haven’t seen anything I like for a while. Morrisons is quite nice.

I do go higher end to get nice boys’ clothes: JoJo, Boden and so on.

H&M! Nutmeg is the nicest supermarket clothing in my experience (Morrisons). In the sales, I always buy Frugi or Jojo Maman.

Frugi works out good value because it’s excellent quality and they wear things for much longer (vests are 6-12 months)

I bought a small number of really nice outfits - Boden, jojomamanbebe, etc - and then got some large bundles mostly for free, people are desperate to get rid of baby clothes, if you ask on your local Facebook groups etc

Lindex never gets mentioned but their vests are the best in the world. They wash and stay nice forever, and come in lovely colours.

Also great for nursery clothes, when the time comes!

Morrison’s clothes are lovely but fucking hell their delivery is atrocious. Took is 3 weeks to get some vests, ordered them for a holiday had no idea they were so useless so they didn’t come in time. They were delivered when we eee away and dumped in the hedge 😬

Most supermarkets are pretty decent but all vary in size which is really annoying.

Vinted is my go to though, or scouring through the free local sites. Kids grow so fast as babies the clothes people give away are usually barely worn. I’ve had a binbag off someone when half of it was still with tags on!

I bought a few handmade pieces off Instagram/ Etsy. They are made for you so your style and colour choice. They are pricier but worth it for me. I just buy less!
My latest favourite is KnittingForA. Bought a few cotton handmade knits and they wash perfectly and last for ages.
Just watch out for AliExpress resellers - if it looks like it's machine made then image-search on Google even if they say it's handmade...

Is it just me that thinks boy clothes aren’t as nice as girls? I know it’s just a colour and doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but girls have all these pink dresses and flowery baby grows then boys have ugly colours or strange slogans on outfits that seem unusual for a new baby. Maybe it’s just the sites I have looked on so I’ll check out all of your suggestions tonight!

Zara is fine for boys imo. Like nice little knitted dungerees with knitted cardigans. No slogans. Can get the knits in beige, red, burnt orange, greens, blues etc

@Antsinmypants23 I often put DD in boys stuff from Zara and Boden because I love the colours, especially rust red/oranges and greens. Lose yourself in Vinted, it’s addictive!

I'd recommend Jo Jo Maman Bebe, Frugi, Little Bird, John Lewis, H&M and sometimes Next.

Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S and Next. Anything we have from elsewhere was gifted.
