DS2 is 5 months old and from 4 weeks old he’s had a couple of small bottles per week of either expressed milk or formula, just to keep him used to a bottle and so I can go to bed early some evenings and DH can do the bedtime feed while I sleep (he’s a terrible sleeper). He had a bad cold and was congested for 2-3 weeks so wouldn’t take a bottle and only wanted to breastfeed.
He has now recovered from the cold however is still refusing bottles. If it’s expressed milk he will have a few sips before pulling away agitated, and if it’s formula he grimaces and refuses to drink any at all even though it’s the same formula we were using before (Hipp Organic). Same bottles too Tommee Tippee ones, although I’ve since tried Mam ones and he refuses to drink from those as well.
Ideally I would like him to still have formula occasionally because my milk output has never been great when pumping and I have other children to look after so struggle to find the time to do it.
I was meant to be having my first few hours away from him this weekend for a friends hen do and now I’m worrying about whether he will accept the bottle from DH.
Any advice on how I can get him to accept a bottle again?
