Where do you store breast-pump?

Hi all,

After I’ve washed and sanitised my pump, where is best to keep it before I use it? I’ve read to keep in the fridge in a zip lock container but by doing that it gets little droplets if water in.

Thanks!

Dry it, and put it in an air tight container to keep it sanitised

Store in a cupboard or bench!

Thanks both. Does it have to be completely dry? I’m trying to let it air dry as recommended but the bottle still has some water droplets in by the time I come to store it which is hours later. I don’t see how to get it to be completely bone dry.

Thanks

Yep, sterilise it by boiling in water or tablets or whatever your method, then dry then put in an alright container

If you just leave it out, it should dry?

Gretchenfox · 20/02/2023 07:13

I have been leaving it out on a bottle drying rack but the bottles won’t dry out completely.

You might need to do some research I have a funny feeling if it's still wet the water could grow bacteria, but I'm not certain. Can you just shake all the drops off, then it might dry?

If your baby was born full term and healthy nothing needs to be sterilised for use with breastmilk. You can just wash it in warm soapy water and store wherever you want. Mine lived in their boxes, or on the kitchen counter. The storing it in the fridge idea is if you're not cleaning it in between uses during the day.
