Parties- gifting

We have went from having absolutely no parties to attend for years to suddenly having 3 over the next few weeks. Whats the current gift giving etiquette? Cash in a card? Toys? One of the birthdays is my best friends son, so that’s straightforward enough. But the other two are a nursery friend and a school friend (turning 7). Also, what do people budget for gifts?

thanks in advance

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would find a toy/something creative for the preschooler with a £10 budget and for the one turning 7, £10 in a card because I feel kids have everything these days and my daughter prefers to do her own shopping she loves the experience of budgeting or splashing the cash.
