10 month old not eating solids

My 10 month old isn't eating solids at all when every other baby I know is on 3 meals a day
We've tried purees but she will push the spoon away / cry hysterically if I try to put it into her mouth and just spit it all out
She has a go at finger foods but will have the tinest amounts before getting bored and throwing it on the floor. She also regularly throws up after choking on her food.

What are we doing wrong?

The only advice I have is to keep offering foods, and try to not give her any milk beforehand, i always give my son breakfast first then milk after. Maybe speak to your hv, if youre already doing that.

My 9 month old has completely gone off spoon feeding, we give him a spoon to play with and feed him with a different spoon if he's having something like yogurt which he still likes. Other than that it's finger foods now, he doesn't eat as much using his hands as he did when he was getting spoon fed but he enjoys handling the food and will take little nibbles before dropping it, so I think it's quite normal for babies to not eat so much if they're feeding themselves.

Sorry I can't offer too much advice but hopefully someone will come along who can help more.

One of my DC didn't get goi g with food until 10 months, it won't hold her back.My advice would be to try not to stress. I would stop purées straight away. Let your baby sit in the high chair next to you at every meal and put a bit of what you are eating on their tray . Chat to her or within the family but don't spend ages cajoling. If it is soft you can load spoons or give her bits of bread dipped in.Just keep going, she will learn by copying.

I’d be wanting her throat checked.

@Mum2be5756 My LO has been through phases of eating well but then being entirely off his food. How is your little one doing with solids now? X

Hi @poppet131 sorry I just saw this message
She's 17 months now is doing great with food! Loves veggies and has a well balanced diet

However she did not start properly eating until she was 14 months old and even then it was just a little bit!!

My advise would be just to keep trying everyday and if they don't want it then take it away

I went to the doctors and she said that it's more common than you think and they don't start worrying until they're 2 years old and to come back then!
