Your 2-year-old refuses their nap but then is cranky af all afternoon. What on earth am I supposed to do?! Nothing will make her happy and I don't want to put a screen in front of her for hours. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (I'm also looking after a 10-week-old so bonus points for EASY activity ideas.)

Grin and bear it and bring dinner and bed time earlier until the new routine embeds.

Quiet activities in the afternoon helps the transition: sticker books, colouring, water magic books, audio books, reading stories together or to the baby, snacks, playdoh, Duplo - anything for some calm/quiet time.

My 2.5yo dropped their nap around 25m and was an awful grouch in the afternoons for a couple of weeks but now the groucho doesn't come out until bedtime routine starts at 6/615pm (in bed and asleep by 7pm, sometimes earlier).

I put her in the bath or got in bed together and read books. They all stop napping at different ages and the transition to no nap is a fucking nightmare so I had enforced rest time then gritted my teeth till bed time. It gets easier and you both adjust. Also DD stopped napping for up to 2 weeks at least twice then started up again for one reason or another. Then it just stopped.
