I've taught my baby to bite :-(

DD (10m) has always been a very loving soul and began giving her teddies 'kisses' some months ago. I've always encouraged this by saying "aww" (which she now copies when she does it), however it's recently become apparent that she's actually biting their noses as she's kissing them. This now means she's started biting me when she tries to give me a kiss, and I don't know how to fix the problem because it will be confusing if I tell her to stop, and she's not yet old enough to understand what "biting" is. Please help :-(

My 8 month old does this and I do the same! He's now biting me when feeding which is so painful! As soon as she does it could you give her something she can bite instead?

I know it will be too late because she's already bitten but then hopefully she will learn what she can bite on? That's what im trying with my son but it's so hard when they're teething

Just ignore it

don’t make it a big deal and don’t draw attention to it

what about a ‘gentle kiss’ ? Give her a kiss very softly and gentle and she will soon copy

Can you teach her to touch lips to face instead?

Whoops!!!

Demonstrate a "proper" kiss with exaggerated motions. Don't react to biting; if she bites just show her how to kiss nicely. She'll pick it up eventually!
