Umbilical cord not healing ?

Hi everyone . Our newborn is 2 weeks old and we’ve noticed his cord has been bleeding for a few days.

our other child’s cord fell off before the first week however our newborns is still on after two weeks and doesn’t seem to been healing like it’s going to drop off. I’ve read it can take up to three weeks to heal. However newborns seems to bleed.

has anyone else’s newborns cord gone like this? And how long did it take to heal properly.

I would get a GP to take a look at this tomorrow tbh. You don't want it to get infected

My son's was like this last year. I can't remember how long it took but it was several weeks. The visiting team kept us on an extra week or two because of it.
It seemed to heal all of a sudden but 'leaked' slightly for a while afterwards.

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I’m hoping it heals quick. Every nappy change a bit of scab comes off but the it will bleed slightly but hasn’t settled . We have three health visitor in a few days I’ll mention it to them too

You can contact the community Midwife too within 4 weeks of birth. Don't leave it any longer to get it checked.

I must have seen hundreds of umbilical cords. It looks fine, just try to keep it dry.

It will probably separate in the next day or so.
