my ds has become clingy, wont sleep without me, cries a lot, whinges constantly. Am not heartless he has only started nursery 3 4 weeks ago so know some of it is down to that but am finding it really hard work and its getting me down as I just feel i am not being as patient with him as I could be. hi,i know how you feel my son is almost three and can be hard work and it does get you down sometimes. i know this wont make you feel better right now but im sure he will probably grow out of it.Does he spend time with other people eg relatives without you?my son does and i think this has always helped as he is not as clingy as some of my friends childeren who hardly ever leave their mums.

Glad Im not the only one. He is at nursery two mornings and then fridays he sees his nan. When I am back at work he will be at nursery and with both sets of grandparents. He has a 5 month old sister and up till now has been fine with her.

I also have a 2.5 year old started nursery at the same time for the same times as yours and have an 8 month old. It is a total nightmare. I am just being v v grump to poor old DH who does not deserve it and just described my life to him as s*t. Totally with you on this one. LEt's hope it gets easier.

Sounds just like my 2yo. I have to live, eat sleep and breath with her or she's not happy. Makes it worse because my DD1 is complete opposite, was always independant and very self contained. She ate and slept well etc. so total shock to get DD2.Would be great to go to the loo by myself once in a while

cathshuck · 08/02/2008 21:43

can just about go to the loo but have to take one of them with me or there is a the potential for injury!!
