Dc is coming up to six months. He nearly fills the joie glide cot by my bed. When do I move him into the next bed and what sort of bed comes next?! Surely you don’t have to keep buying new ones every few months?

Secondly, where should any new bed go?

Im on my own so have nobody to discuss with!

Into a cot- ideally buy a cot bed so when he gets to 2/3 yrs old you can adapt it.
I had a cot jammed up against my bed until my eldest was maybe 10 months and then put it in her own room.

My 6 month old is in a next to me cot but when he outgrows this or we decide to put him in his own room he will be in a cot bed. They are designed to last a few years as you can take the side off and turn it into a toddler bed

Cot bed is big so doubt it would fit in your room x

You can get a cotbed as pp says. If it needs to stay in your room or you don’t have much space in baby’s room you can go for one with the 120x60 mattress instead of the larger 140x70 mattress like most cot beds. Some of them are called ‘space saver’ cots/cot beds. Glad we brought one of these as our baby will be in our room well past 6 months due to endless delays with our house purchase. It’s still quite a tight fit. A travel cot is another intermediate sized option.
