I’m a FTM. Baby is now 7 weeks. To begin with when I left hospital she was BF soley. But then because of weight when midwife came out, I got put onto a plan of formula and BF. Ever since that I’ve just stuck the combo feeding out. I wish I could BF soley but now I quite like the comfort of knowing how much she gets where as I’m scared my breast would let her down! Especially since first few days when she didn’t gain and I did have blood loss a lot in the birth
the hospital gave me cow and gate instant formula to take away so as soon as I had to formula feed that’s what she went onto, I noticed she was being sick a lot especially when put onto back. Right from get go from taken her from hospital, the first night seeing sick come out after laying her was scary. I then started to think has she got reflux because all the grunting, legs to the stomach. The hiccups, sick when placed on back or sick just because. I mentioned to doctor. Got given carobel.
I then also seen that reflux tends to have more to it so also got nutromigen for her. My parents said she improved a lot on this but then lately it seems it’s back to a lot of grunts, legs to stomach, face going red (unsure if she is trying to poop? But it happens a lot) Shes unsettled..she will be content to fall asleep in arms after a feed but if placed on her back whether thats after 30 mins as I sit her upright or even if I place an hour later she knows instant when placed on back and hates it!
Prior to the nutromigen she was on Kendamil and she would poop instantly whilst feeding on that - I don’t know if good thing or bad but now since switch she hardly poops as much! But she is keeping feeds down.. averages 60ml a feed which health visitor wanted me to feed feed!
which then caused sickness! This week shes upped wanting fed..that she’ll fuss for more then if it exceeds 90ml its sickness! I’m so confused and hate her being discomfort..i also don’t know what to do if she is constipated
tried warm bath.. :( and massages! Feeling so tired and pressure to get it right - I see people say oh it’s easy their baby sleeps all night but since the start it takes ages to feed because there is so much involved with refluxy baby!
