Not sure if I'm on the right board, sorry. Can anyone suggest a cream for sore nipples with BFing?

Get the lansinoh stuff - it's like magic! And you don't need to wipe off before the next feed

CoalCraft · 12/02/2023 17:38

How old is baby? Just to give you some hope, I had sore nipples at first but by 2.5 weeks it had stopped completely.

Hyggeandhugs · 12/02/2023 17:39

Silver nipple cups are an absolute godsend, they can be much more soothing than cream

Breast milk

shreddednips · 12/02/2023 17:49

Definitely Lansinoh, and rub a bit of breast milk into your nipples after every feed. It should get better reasonably soon- it's so painful at the beginning (hence username) but after a few weeks your nips toughen up.

I found the Multi Mam compressed and balm a god send. The Lansinoh stuff didn’t do anything for me.

Weleda nipple cream (lasinoh made my sore nips stick to the nursing pad? Ouch!), and the multi mam compresses are amazing!

Nursemumma92 · 12/02/2023 17:54

Another vote for Weleda nipple cream, great stuff!

nonetteP · 12/02/2023 18:12

I used lansinoh for the first week and then was told by an IBCLC that less is more and use it only on the very tip of the nipple, as it makes the breast slippery which further affects latch. I didn't use it again after being told that and latch/pain got so much better and nipples healed within a couple of days.

Rite Aid Hydrogel Gel Breast... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01FDTH9LA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Epsom salt bath in the morning. Nipple pads to stop the rubbing. Mine blistered the first week or two but then they turned into teflon nips!

If your later on in bf journey have a consultant look at the latch

Me too! Definitely go Weleda.

Makes a great lipbalm, too 👌

How old is baby OP, quite new? If so, congratulations!

There's an Infant Feeding board here too: www.mumsnet.com/talk/breast_and_bottle_feeding

roarfeckingroarr · 12/02/2023 18:40

Lansinoh definitely. It doesn't last. My baby is 9 days now and bf doesn't hurt anymore.

MamEmma · 13/02/2023 09:36

Thank you everyone. I have sent DH out with a long shopping list 😊
