Sterilising help

Hi all,

FTM here. I am sterilising everything I should be (bottles, pump etc) with the Milton cold water steriliser. But do I need to clean the steriliser each day? I know it’s being sterilised but should I clean a with hot soapy water too?

I am also thinking of getting a drying stand for the bottles etc and I’m presuming that needs to be cleaned each day but would it need sterilising too? If so, that seems more effort than it’s worth!

Thanks all!

I used to give mine a clean every fortnight or so, I had an electric one so I would clean the heating plate every month as instructed too.

With the bottles either put them together as soon as they're sterilized or leave them in the steriliser, that way they stay sterile. It's not a perfect system obviously but I wouldn't leave them out on a drying rack.

Thanks both. I know I can use the bottles straight from the steriliser but I’m just finding it hard to dry my pump - any advice?

You don't need to sterilise your pump very often Wink

Your pump only needs sterilising once every 24 hours. Wash it with soapy water after each use.
The sterilising bucket doesn't need washing unless the water is milky etc. The water needs changing every 24 hours.
A drying rack wouldn't need to be sterilised.
