just that really.
thinking about getting little boy a jumperoo (not a door frame one) - will this hinder his development/hips/walking/crawling etc?

It depends on your child really. Mine didn’t like his at all so we donated it to the baby bank.

We had a (second hand one). I don't think it hinders development as long as you adjust the height correctly and don't leave them in it for too long.

Completely agree with pp that it depends on the child. DC1 loved it, DC2 didn't.

Fine when used in short bursts - I know a mum who had twins who didnt know they were not meant to be in them hours at a time....they were obviously then very late walkers!
As part of a varied movement routine, a lifesaver!

Ah the 'circle of neglect'! Best invention ever. Get one.

We used from 5 months with a big book under her feet.

Just to say on the development side. I didn't use one, neither of my kids crawled until 11 months. They walked at 16/17 months.

I'm not sure any of these things massively help or hinder physical development.

Dd1 was walking by her first birthday, dd2 walked at 18 months.

Dd1 loved her jumperoo and was in there a loy bevause she loved it.

D2 would not tolerate it at all so went in about 3 times in total

Both my DC have disabilities but I know their orthopedic consultants discouraged using them. I believe it's to do with shortening the muscles in the back of their ankles.

Namechange12908 · 09/02/2023 13:20

DC1 loved it and would happily stay in as much as we would permit, went in from about 4-5 months i think
DC2 wasn't keen at all so never used it.

Both DC walked at 11 months.
