Toddler suddenly getting out of bed

Hiya lovely’s my 2 year old daughter went into her big girl bed on New Year’s Day because we thought she was ready for it, she’s always slept all night with barely any wake ups unless she was poorly, but since going into her big bed she wakes up every night and gets out of bed, we have put a stair gate on her door but she stands there shouting for me bless her, sometimes it’s only once but sometimes it’s multiple times, has anyone else’s little one done this? I was just wondering if there was anything we could do? She’s not napping in the day anymore so goes down absolutely fine but just wakes in the early hours xxx

Yep. My 5 year old still gets up multiple times a night and tries to get me to go in with him.

I think every toddler goes through this once they realise they have freedom at their finger tips!

first time - ask what’s wrong, give water / loo / whatever then back to bed, kiss and night night

every subsequent time - say nothing, take their hand, back to bed. Every time. They’ll soon realise it’s boring and go back to sleep.
