Weird habits

I poked my head round the kitchen door when all had gone quiet today to find my ds (14m) lying on his front licking the carper runner with every sign of enjoyment .

Is my son strange or does it just say something about my cooking!

My ds2 must have been about the same age when I found him face down on my mother's hearth licking the (slightly sooty) shiny tiles
