Smell of weed in daughters room

I live in a semi and have got a new neighbour in the last 2 years. Bit of background - he lives alone but his adult children come over all weekend and the noise from the house is shocking when they are there - we are never away from the door to tell them to keep it down.

Noise is one thing, but this weekend I've noticed a very strong smell of weed in my daughters room which is joined on to their house. It's the only place the smell could be coming from as other houses are quite a bit further away.

I'm absolutely not putting up with this, my question is would you have a word on the side with the owner or just go straight to the police? There are also young kids in the house frequently...also probably breathing this in :/ thanks

Sorry to hear you're also going through this! I went to the door and explained the situation, he denied smoking it even though the smoke was billowing out his front door as we stood there. Eventually he said he would sort it and thankfully it hasn't happened since! If it does happen again i will probably go straight to the police to be honest

I had this problem with neighbours years ago. The police didn't give two shits.

I say this kindly but the police probably won't care, they have so much to do !

We had this issue with our neighbour when they moved in and my husband stood by our back door when he was smoking over the fence and said something like 'if you think you're gonna infiltrate my house with the smell of those vile drugs you can fucking think again, we have a baby in here'

There was a bunch of flowers and an apology on the doorstep the next day and it's not happened since 🤣

Fair enough…. Not taking my chances as these neighbours are rough, and regularly have police round. Decided not to call police, but call their housing association anonymously. This smell is infiltrating my 2nd floor on a daily basis…. They can guess it might be me as we are adjoined but as the have p*ssed off most close by neighbours I will deny all knowledge and pray for no drama….😫😫😫 would mind but I privately rent for a pretty penny every month and I ended up with the clampitts as neighbours. 😫

People love to complain, damn. It's a simple solution, windows are designed to open and close. So close them when ever u smell weed, simple as 123, right. I am having the same issue with a neighbour complaining about the smoke going through their windows etc, some people from no alcohol to unwind some of us smoke weed, I smoke it late at night like at 1am in my garden that forms part of my mortgage payment. 👀👀. What is the world coming to, like seriously. Those that complain should consider paying the rent or mortgage for those that smoke in their own gardens etc. Or simply close their windows including the trickle vent during the time that their neighbours smoke it, which they should pre arrange with the smoking neighbour, grow up people and be reason. My land is my land and I can do what I please. 💨💨💨💨😁. If my neighbour want some, I can give them a puff, just a single puff then they can go and buy their own smoke. It's not cheap, u know
