What does he like? Is the gift from you to your dad or from your child to their dad?

My dad is easy to shop for, he loves all kinds of cakes and biscuits, so I either get him something to his taste or go with the restauran voucher or take him out for dinner, etc. He knows what kind of tools and equipment he needs for his gardening and stuff way better than I do, so I either ask him if he needs something in particular or just get him a gift card of a store he buys the tools from.

Think about your dad's hobbies and interests, maybe there is something he'd like to get equipment for or some software he would find useful (ie if he's into filming things, you can get him a video editing program; if he is into music, it could be a music production software, etc).
Experience gifts are usually well appreciated, so could be tickets to events or shows he would enjoy attending. Maybe he's interested in some particular topics you can get him books about. Photo related gifts are nice, could be a family photo calendar or a framed birthday collage that includes family pictures. If he's into trying out new food, you can get him one of these subscription boxes where they deliver you a box of snack every month-
